8:00 am - 3:00 pm
The Aging Matters Education and Expo event is designed to educate older adults, their adult children, family caregivers and service providers about resources, services and critical issues to ensure those we love age with dignity and choice.
Now in its 9th year, the event is produced by the Detroit Caregivers Support Collaborative whose founding goal was, and continues today, to connect Metro-Detroit families to the aging network of service delivery.
The collaborative includes: Bridging Communities Inc., Neighborhood Legal Services Michigan - Elder Law & Advocacy Center, Southeast Michigan Senior Regional Collaborative, and Urban Aging News.
Join us for the first time or for a refresher. Join us if you are currently a caregiver, a former caregiver, anticipate caregiving, or just want to know what’s available if you ever need caregiving.
Aging well is an intentional choice that requires planning and information-seeking before a medical event. The Aging Matters Education & Expo event promises tools for both.

“Don’t wait until a medical event to begin to plan or seek services, which limits choice. If a family member experiences cognitive decline, it’s nearly impossible to put certain things in place.”
